Director
Trevor Baxter is in his 25st year of teaching and educating musicians. Throughout his career, Mr. Baxter has successfully directed small, medium, and large sized bands at the high school level. The band programs have grown in ability and size at every job where he was employed. He is currently in his fifth year as Director of Bands at Centennial High School in Franklin, TN. Mr. Baxter has founded the Cougar Indoor Percussion that competes in the Southeastern Color Guard Circuit. He has laid the foundation for Centennial Jazz and oversees the marching band and concert bands.
Mr. Baxter is a native of Columbia, TN and served as Director of Bands at his alma mater (Columbia Central High School) from 2016-2022. The Columbia Central teachers and staff awarded him the honor of "Teacher of the Year" for the 2021-2022 school year. He has been an educator in the states of Georgia, South Carolina, and Tennessee while serving on various leadership teams and boards.
Mr. Baxter's professional affiliations include memberships with American School Band Directors Association, Middle Tennessee School Band and Orchestra Association for Music Education, Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, and Percussive Arts Society.
Assistant Director
Carolina Herrera is the Assistant Director of Bands at Centennial High School in Franklin, TN. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from Middle Tennessee State University, where she was a member of the Band of Blue Marching Band, Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, Symphony Orchestra, and various chamber groups. She was a 2026 Bluecoats Fellow, which included a residency at Bluecoats Spring Training and mentoring with the Bluecoats design team.
Ms. Herrera is a Murfreesboro, TN native and attended Siegel High School. Prior to Centennial, she worked with the Page High School marching band as its brass and choreography instructor.
Color Guard Director
Beth Bauer has taught color guards, marching bands, and winter drum lines in the Middle Tennessee area since 1996. She is a graduate of Brentwood High School, marching in the first competitive winter guard in the school's history. She aged out as Captain of the Chimeras Open in 2000, the same year she graduated from Middle Tennessee State University with a degree in Social Work.
Under her direction as Color Guard Director, the CHS winter guard has celebrated numerous successes including promotion to a higher competitive class and a second place finish at the 2024 SCGC Championships in the SRAA Class.
Front Ensemble Director
Cam Terry is a freelance percussionist and lesson teacher in the Middle Tennessee area. He graduated from Belmont in 2024, playing in the top classical band all four years, the orchestra from sophomore year on, and the top jazz band JB1 from sophomore year on. As a performer, he has played in musicals, jazz bands, jazz combos, experimental music groups, and orchestras in the Middle Tennessee area since his time in high school.
Percussion Director
Ian Hunt has worked with several respected local groups, including Music City Drum Corps, Music City Mystique, Audio Theatre, Spring Hill High School, and Ravenwood High School. Under his direction, the Spring Hill program earned numerous medals, including a gold medal at the 2023 SCGC Championships, and was promoted to Open Class in 2025, going on to perform at the WGI World Championships.
Ian's marching career began at Oakland and Siegel High Schools. He went on to march with Music City Mystique, the MTSU Band of Blue, the Disneyland All-American College Band, and performed with numerous other ensembles while attending MTSU. After graduating, Ian moved to New York City and toured with local groups, performed alongside Tony Award winners, and won WNYC's Best Band in NYC award.
